History of RCC

Ridge Community ChurchRidge Community Church (Formerly known as Dundee Church of God) began under the leadership of Rev. John L. Livingston in 1966. Pastor Livingston officially organized the church on June 19, 1966, with 13 members. The present property, 623 Dundee Road, was purchased during Bro. Livingston’s pastorate.

The church has been added to and renovated over the years. The most recent addition was a new sanctuary and offices that was dedicated in April of 2002. The church has undergone several name changes through the years. Organized as Dundee Church of God, it was renamed New Horizon Church of God before becoming as it is known today, Ridge Community Church.

Many pastors have served Ridge Community Church through the years. In 1990, Reverend Kirby Thompson was appointed to serve Ridge Community. During his tenure, additional property was purchased that allowed for the building of the new sanctuary in 2002.

In October 1997, Reverend Kirby Thompson retired with more than 50 years of ministerial service. His son, Reverend Steven D. Thompson, became his successor and serves as pastor of Ridge Community Church today.
